The Pineville Porcupines looked to head into the postseason with a motivating win as well as keep their chances of obtaining the second seed in the Mountain Division by defeating the Lexington Flying Pigs, and they did just that.

Pineville did get off on the wrong foot however, quickly falling behind 5-0 after the first three frames thanks to a string of early singles and walks put together by the Flying Pigs. However, the Porcs came storming back after that, getting on the board in the 2nd with a sacrifice fly by 3B Lucas Delacruz that scored LF Jack Coletti before taking the lead with five runs in the 3rd.

CF Michael Rogers came through with a clutch two-run RBI single and 1B Corbin Wright added on with an RBI single before a costly error with two outs by RF Brendan Snider allowed two more runs to come home as the Porcupines took a 6-5 lead that they would never relinquish.

This was in large part due to the efforts of LHP Isaias Moreno who, in just over five innings of work, allowed just one run and struck out seven. Pineville made sure to fend off Lexington with an RBI single by Delacruz in the 6th and a steal of home by SS Braden Mauro after a wild pitch over from first by RHP Gavin Davis.

The Flying Pigs did threaten one last time in the top of the 9th, as they were able to load the bases with just one out, however, RHP Liam Sharer was able to come in and strike out his last two batters to end the threat, the ballgame, and the regular season for the Porcupines.
