Porcupines Explode for 14 Runs in Blowout vs. Moonshiners

After suffering a tough loss to the Hendersonville Honeycrisps on Sunday, the Pineville

Porcupines bounced back in emphatic fashion Tuesday night, cruising to a 14-1 victory over the

Wilkes County Moonshiners. The win marked Pineville's third victory over Wilkes County this

season.

Alex Lerch (6)

The Porcupines wasted no time getting on the scoreboard. Leading off the bottom of the first

inning, second baseman Alex Lerch launched a solo home run to right field, giving Pineville an

early 1-0 advantage.

Pineville continued to apply pressure in the second inning. Left fielder Jack Coletti and center

fielder Michael Rogers each delivered RBI singles, helping extend the Porcupines' lead to 4-0.

Jack Coletti (18)

The offense stayed hot in the fourth inning. Coletti blasted the first of his two home runs on the

night, sending a ball over the right-field fence. Later in the inning, Lerch reached base and

eventually scored on a ground ball from Rogers, pushing the lead to 6-0.

The Porcupines would put the game out of reach in the sixth inning as Coletti connected for his

second home run of the evening, once again to right field. Pineville's offense continued to roll

throughout the night, finishing with 11 hits and 14 runs. Lerch, Rogers, and right fielder Chad

Matthews all recorded multiple hits in the victory, while Coletti led the charge with a pair of home

runs, a single and six RBIs.

Tanner Lewis (4)

On the mound, Tanner Lewis delivered a dominant performance for Pineville. The left-hander

worked five innings, allowing just two hits and one earned run while striking out seven batters.

Lewis also issued three walks before turning the game over to the bullpen.

With this win, the Porcupines will now move to 7-9 on the season. Pineville will now look to their

matchup vs. the Lexington Flying Pigs on Wednesday June 17th to spring this into a winning

streak.
